It’s time to get those long guns and pistols ready for some cowboy action shooting with the Texas Historical Shootist Society (THSS). 

Our monthly weekend matches will be Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21. You can compete either day or both days.  There will also be a long-range match after the Sunday shoot.

Shooters’ Meeting each day is at 8:30 am. Price is $20 for THSS members, $25 for non-members, and free for spectators.   

Hawaiian Theme

To remain comfortable in the summer THSS will only require period correct western headgear, holster and cowboy legal footwear (Must be closed toe shoes. No sandals or flip flops.).  This is optional and you are more than welcome to come out in your regular attire if you prefer. And since it’s August, this is also the Hawaiian theme match. So pull out the grass skirts, fancy flowers to wear around your neck, and/or period correct swim- wear (nothing too risqué or you’ll be sent to Judge Roy Bean’s for adjudication).
